Telangana to organise tourism week from May 18 under 99 Days Action Plan

Hyderabad: The Telangana government will organise a week-long tourism, heritage and cultural programme under Theme-10 of the 99 Days Action Plan from May 18 to May 24 across the State.

The Department of Tourism, NITHM, Department of Heritage, Department of Language and Culture, and Department of Youth Advancement will coordinate the activities.

The programme aims to strengthen Telangana’s tourism sector. It also focuses on heritage conservation, cultural preservation, hospitality training and youth participation.

The events will begin on May 18 with heritage walks in all districts.

Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism will conduct a tourism activation drive at Raymond’s Tombs. It will also release an action plan for revamping heritage tourism.

The Department of Heritage will celebrate International Museum Day at the State Museum in Hyderabad.

At the same time, the Department of Language and Culture will organise cultural performances at Ravindra Bharathi.

NITHM will conduct tourism and hospitality career guidance workshops with DEET at SIHM, Zaheerabad.

Telangana tourism week to feature tourism conclave

During the week, the Department of Tourism will organise tourism activation drives at Khajana Building and other tourist destinations.

District Collectors and tourism officials will also hold meetings with tourism influencers and YouTubers in all districts.

The meetings aim to promote Telangana tourism through digital outreach.

In addition, the Department of Tourism will roll out the Yuva Tourism Club activity plan across the State.

The Department of Heritage will conduct conservation and cleanliness drives at Gunfoundry, Paigah Tombs, Pangal and Centenary Heritage Museum.

Meanwhile, officials will release brochures for site museums and heritage museums in Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Warangal, Jogulamba Gadwal and Hyderabad.

The Department of Language and Culture will organise evening programmes at Ravindra Bharathi throughout the week.

The events will include folk dances, classical performances, literary programmes, theatre shows and devotional music presentations by amateur artists.

NITHM will also conduct a two-day Faculty Development Programme on technological competency enhancement.

Besides this, the institute will organise Tourism Conclave 2026 titled “Destination Telangana: Strategies for the Next Frontier of Tourism” in Hyderabad.

The programme will conclude with Swachhata drives at tourist destinations and heritage monuments across all districts.

Finally, District Collectors will release the Telangana Tourism Brand Kit.
