Governor calls for active public participation in Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign

Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla called on citizens to actively support the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign. He said a drug-free India was essential to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. He added that every citizen shared the responsibility of eliminating substance abuse from society.

The Governor joined youth and students at the Brahma Kumaris Shanti Sarovar Global Peace Auditorium in Gachibowli on Sunday. They watched Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launch the nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan.

On the occasion, Shukla launched the 10 crore drug-free pledge campaign in Telangana. He also administered the Anti-Drug Pledge to youth and students. Moreover, he urged them to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.

Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign focuses on youth

Addressing the gathering, the Governor described the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign as a people’s movement to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat-2047. He said India’s greatest strength was its youth. Therefore, he said healthy, disciplined and socially responsible young citizens would build an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Shukla noted that nearly 65 per cent of India’s population comprised young people. Hence, he stressed the need to protect them from substance abuse.

He said drugs damaged individual health and future prospects. They also disrupted families, weakened social harmony and slowed national progress. Furthermore, he encouraged young people to embrace spirituality, yoga, sports and value-based living.
