Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Police intensified anti-drug surveillance in Dilsukhnagar and LB Nagar areas to prevent youth from falling into drug abuse.
Police Commissioner Sumathi IPS said the department was implementing strict monitoring systems in areas where thousands of students reside.
She stated that the police aimed to build a drug-free society through continuous enforcement and surveillance measures.
Officials increased night-time monitoring through drone cameras in sensitive areas.
Anti-drug surveillance focuses on student safety
Police teams are also conducting spot drug tests on suspicious individuals during special drives.
Authorities launched special audits and inspections at hostels to identify illegal activities related to narcotics.
The department strengthened surveillance through more than 3,200 CCTV cameras installed across key locations.
Police also intensified monitoring of pan shops, allegedly becoming hubs for drug sales.
Sumathi IPS warned that even a single NDPS case could damage a young person’s future permanently.
She urged students to stay away from drugs and focus on education, discipline and career goals.
The Commissioner also appealed to citizens to cooperate with police in ensuring community safety and preventing drug abuse.
