Hyderabad: The Telangana Transport Department stepped up paddy transport arrangements to ensure smooth movement of grain from procurement centres to warehouses and rice mills across the state.
Transport Department officials directed field staff to ensure adequate availability of lorries and tractors for transportation operations.
Authorities instructed officials to coordinate with district administrations and the Civil Supplies Department to avoid delays in vehicle deployment.
The department also asked officials to arrange transport vehicles immediately based on requirements at procurement centres.
Paddy transport operations under close monitoring
The Commissioner instructed officials to ensure that all vehicles engaged in transportation carried valid documents.
Authorities said vehicles must have registration certificates, fitness certificates, permits, insurance papers, pollution certificates and valid driving licences.
As paddy procurement gathered pace across Telangana, officials intensified coordination with multiple departments for uninterrupted transport operations.
The department also directed officers to resolve transportation-related issues without delay and maintain continuous monitoring across districts.
Officials stated that coordinated efforts were underway to prevent disruptions in paddy movement during the procurement season.
