CM Revanth directs officials to seek student views on uniforms

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to collect school uniform feedback from students. Their views would help identify preferred colours and designs for future supplies.

He said the government would consider students’ choices while selecting uniforms in the coming years. The Chief Minister reviewed the distribution of uniforms and kits at the MCR HRD Bodhi Pavilion. The supplies were meant for students in government hostels, residential schools and government schools.

Officials said this year’s uniforms were better in quality than those supplied earlier. They also featured attractive colours and designs.

Distribution of ties, belts, identity cards, shoes and socks had almost been completed. The same applied to plates, glasses, bowls, carpets and school bags. However, supplies of a few items under one or two organisations had reached only about 95 per cent.

School uniform feedback to guide future planning

Revanth Reddy directed officials to complete the pending distribution quickly. He also asked them to prepare standard operating procedures for next year’s uniforms and other student supplies immediately.

He stressed that every stage must follow a fixed schedule. This included preparing item lists, inviting tenders, procurement, supply and distribution. He directed officials to prepare an action plan in advance. All materials should reach students on the first day of the next academic year.

MP Vem Narender Reddy attended the review. Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N. Sridhar was also present. Welfare Department Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh attended the meeting. Tribal and Backward Classes Department Principal Secretary Rahul Bojja and officials from various departments also participated.
