Cyberabad police intensify anti-drug drive against rowdy sheeters

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police on Wednesday conducted a special drug-testing drive on rowdy sheeters across the commissionerate as part of efforts to curb substance abuse and improve public safety.

Police tested 128 individuals during the operation. Among them, 11 tested positive for ganja consumption while 117 tested negative.

Police officials said Serilingampally zone recorded the highest number of positive cases.

Authorities found six positive cases among 44 individuals tested in Serilingampally. In addition, Quthbullapur recorded four positives out of 59 tested, while Kukatpally reported one positive case among 25 tested individuals.

Anti-drug drive targets repeat offenders

Cyberabad Police said officials would initiate legal action against those who tested positive for ganja consumption.

Moreover, police planned counselling sessions and continuous monitoring wherever necessary.

Officials stated that the anti-drug drive formed part of a broader effort to prevent drug abuse and maintain law and order across the commissionerate.

Authorities said similar drives would continue regularly in different police zones.

Police also appealed to citizens to share credible information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse activities.

For reporting drug trafficking, Cyberabad Police asked the public to contact officials in Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Quthbullapur zones.
