Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught Waddepally surveyor Kammari Brahmaiah red-handed in a bribery case in Jogulamba Gadwal district.
ACB officials said Brahmaiah, working as Mandal Surveyor in Waddepally mandal, allegedly demanded Rs 15,000 from a complainant for conducting a land survey related to the complainant’s parents’ property.
According to officials, the accused earlier accepted Rs 5,000 as advance payment on May 6.
Waddepally surveyor caught during ACB trap
ACB officials said the accused later accepted another Rs 10,000 from the complainant as part payment of the bribe amount.
Authorities recovered the tainted bribe money from the possession of the accused during the trap operation.
Officials stated that the accused allegedly performed official duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
The ACB arrested the accused and planned to produce him before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
Officials said the case remained under investigation and withheld the complainant’s details for security reasons.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau also urged citizens to report bribery demands through its toll-free helpline 1064.
