Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught Shamirpet Tahsildar and Executive Magistrate T. Sucharitha red-handed in a bribery case in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
ACB officials said the Shamirpet Tahsildar allegedly demanded Rs 30 lakh from a complainant for processing and approving NALA conversion applications related to 30 acres of agricultural land.
According to ACB officials, Sucharitha accepted Rs 2 lakh as part payment through her private driver V. Nagesh on May 26 at around 2 pm.
Officials recovered the tainted bribe amount of Rs 2 lakh from the possession of driver V. Nagesh.
ACB stated that the accused public servant allegedly performed official duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

ACB officials arrested both Sucharitha and driver V. Nagesh in the case.
Authorities said they would produce the accused before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
Officials stated that the case remained under investigation.
The ACB withheld details of the complainant for security reasons.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau also urged citizens to report bribery demands through its toll-free helpline 1064.
