Tahsildar bribe case: ACB traps Siddipet official with ₹70,000

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a Tahsildar in a Tahsildar bribe case after allegedly catching him while accepting ₹70,000 to process NALA conversion applications in Siddipet district.

The accused, Korra Dileep Naik, serves as Tahsildar of Cheryala mandal. According to the ACB, he allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe at his office to process 11 NALA conversion applications relating to land in Nagapuri village.

Tahsildar bribe case linked to NALA applications

ACB officials said the Tahsildar had already processed eight of the 11 applications before the trap. Moreover, the agency recovered the tainted ₹70,000 from the accused during the operation. Furthermore, the ACB alleged that the officer abused his official position and dishonestly sought an undue advantage.

The ACB arrested the accused after completing the trap proceedings. Additionally, officials said they would produce him before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad. The agency withheld the complainant’s identity for security reasons. Meanwhile, investigators are continuing the probe.
