Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt on Monday visited Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, where he toured treatment facilities, interacted with patients and praised the institution’s advanced cancer care.
The actor was welcomed by hospital chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna along with Trust Board members Nara Brahmani and J. S. R. Prasad. They paid floral tributes to the statues of Basavatarakam Nandamuri and N. T. Rama Rao on the hospital premises.

A lung cancer survivor, Sanjay Dutt visited the PET-CT Unit, Radiation Oncology Department, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and Pediatric Ward. Additionally, he interacted with doctors and cancer patients. He also distributed fruits and gifts to children and discussed advanced treatment facilities with specialists.
During a felicitation ceremony, Balakrishna presented Sanjay Dutt with a ceremonial shawl, a hospital memento and an idol of Lord Venkateswara. Addressing the gathering, Balakrishna said the hospital, established in memory of his mother, had grown into one of India’s leading cancer treatment centres.
Moreover, he highlighted its advanced diagnostic, radiation therapy, robotic surgery and laboratory facilities. He reiterated the institution’s goal of becoming one of the world’s leading cancer hospitals. Sharing his experience as a lung cancer survivor, Sanjay Dutt urged people not to fear the disease. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of early screening and timely treatment.
He said early diagnosis and prompt treatment could lead to complete recovery. The actor also praised the hospital for providing world-class cancer care and compassionate treatment under Balakrishna’s leadership.
