TGSPDCL AEE caught accepting ₹25,000 bribe in Sangareddy

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a TGSPDCL official in the TGSPDCL AEE bribe case after allegedly catching him red-handed while accepting ₹25,000 from a complainant in Sangareddy district.

The accused, B. Rama Krishna Reddy, worked as Additional Assistant Engineer (Operations) with TGSPDCL at IDA Bollaram. ACB officials conducted the trap operation near his office on Thursday and caught him allegedly accepting the bribe at around 1:25 pm.

According to ACB officials, the officer allegedly demanded the money in exchange for not initiating action over damage caused to an electricity pole in a car accident on June 12, 2026.

TGSPDCL AEE bribe case leads to arrest

Investigators said the complainant approached the ACB after the official allegedly sought illegal gratification to avoid further action in the matter. Subsequently, ACB officials laid a trap and monitored the transaction. During the operation, they allegedly caught the official while receiving the amount.

Furthermore, officials recovered the tainted cash from his possession. The ACB stated that the officer misused his public position to obtain an undue advantage.

Following the arrest, ACB officials initiated legal proceedings against the accused officer. Authorities will produce him before the Special Court for ACB Cases in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, investigators have continued the probe to gather additional evidence related to the case.

The ACB withheld the complainant’s identity for security reasons. Officials said further investigation is underway.
