Hyderabad: Nine people died in two Sangareddy road accidents on Tuesday, including seven workers travelling in an autorickshaw. Two others died in a separate multi-vehicle crash, while several people suffered injuries.
The first accident occurred on the outskirts of Satwar village in Zaheerabad mandal. A tanker hit an autorickshaw carrying a group of workers, killing seven of them.
According to available information, 14 workers were travelling in the autorickshaw when the crash occurred. Authorities identified the deceased workers as residents of Karnataka. Police reached the accident site after receiving information and began rescue operations.
Sangareddy road accidents claim seven workers
The collision involving the tanker and autorickshaw accounted for seven of the nine deaths reported in the district. The workers were travelling through the Satwar area when the tanker struck their vehicle.
Meanwhile, another serious accident occurred near Kaveli in Kohir mandal. A car rammed into vehicles travelling from Bidar towards Hyderabad. Consequently, three vehicles collided in succession. Two people died in the crash, while several others sustained injuries.
Moreover, three injured people were reported to be in critical condition. Authorities shifted them to a nearby hospital for treatment. The two Sangareddy road accidents occurred in succession on Tuesday and left nine people dead in total.
Sangareddy road accidents hit NH 65
The back-to-back crashes caused tragedy along National Highway 65 in Sangareddy district. Police responded to both accident sites and carried out relief measures. In addition, officials shifted the injured for medical treatment after the Kohir accident. Three of them remained in serious condition, according to the information available.
Police also began investigating the circumstances that led to both crashes. The exact causes of the Sangareddy road accidents remained under investigation.
