Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said KCR lives in people through welfare schemes introduced by the previous government. He said the Ganesh festival had again brought former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao into public discussion.
KTR made the remarks at Telangana Bhavan. He was speaking after welcoming Congress leaders and activists from Inugurthi in Mahabubabad district into the BRS.
KCR lives in people through welfare schemes
Responding to criticism over KCR’s limited public appearances, KTR said the former Chief Minister “lives in the hearts of the people”. He cited pensions, Mission Bhagiratha drinking water connections, Kalyana Lakshmi and irrigation projects. KTR claimed these programmes continued to remind Telangana residents of KCR.
He said elderly beneficiaries and women receiving welfare benefits continued to recall the former Chief Minister. Similarly, farmers remembered the previous government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme and irrigation initiatives, he said.
KTR also criticised the Congress government over programmes held to release financial assistance. He alleged that such programmes were being turned into political events dominated by criticism of KCR. Instead, he said, the government should focus on governance and delivery.
KTR said the BRS would continue highlighting differences between the previous and present governments. He said the party would focus on the implementation of welfare and agricultural programmes.
