Hyderabad: BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao paid tribute to Chakali Ailamma on her birth anniversary on Saturday. In a statement, KCR described Ailamma as a symbol of Telangana’s consciousness, courage and Bahujan self-respect.
He recalled her role in the Telangana Armed Peasant Struggle and her resistance to feudal oppression. He also praised her fight for the rights of farmers and disadvantaged communities.
According to KCR, Ailamma combined the courage to confront landlords with faith in democratic and legal methods. He said her fighting spirit continued to inspire younger generations.
Tribute to Chakali Ailamma recalls her legacy
KCR said the previous BRS government had officially started celebrating Ailamma’s birth anniversary. He said the initiative sought to carry her legacy to future generations. He also referred to welfare and development programmes implemented during the BRS government.
According to KCR, those programmes sought to strengthen women, children, farmers and other sections of society. He claimed that the BRS government had strengthened the rural economy and revived traditional occupations. He also said its policies had promoted the economic and social self-respect of different communities.
“True tribute to Chakali Ailamma lies in sincerely implementing governance practices that uphold the welfare and dignity of people,” KCR said.
