Heritage Telangana conducts Swachhata Drive at Gunfoundry monument

Hyderabad: The Department of Heritage Telangana conducted a Swachhata Drive at the historic Gunfoundry protected monument in Hyderabad to promote cleanliness and heritage conservation.

Prof. Arjun Rao Kuthadi, Director of Heritage Telangana, led the programme in association with Deccan Heritage Academy Trust and the INTACH Hyderabad chapter.

Officials, heritage activists, volunteers and members of the public actively participated in the programme.

The initiative focused on creating awareness about cleanliness, preservation and protection of heritage monuments.

Participants carried out cleaning activities around the Gunfoundry monument premises. Officials also organised awareness programmes on maintaining heritage sites in a clean and sustainable manner.

Swachhata Drive promotes heritage conservation

During the programme, Deputy Director (Museum) Dr P. Nagaraju explained the historical importance of monuments. He also highlighted the responsibility of citizens in protecting cultural heritage.

Further, he stressed the need for regular conservation efforts and greater public participation in preserving heritage structures.

Meanwhile, organisers said the Swachhata Drive received enthusiastic support from all stakeholders. They added that the programme helped spread awareness on monument conservation and public cleanliness.
