Hyderabad: Minister Vakiti Srihari paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary and described him as the architect of India’s information revolution.
Srihari said Rajiv Gandhi’s contributions towards building modern India would remain unforgettable.
He stated that Rajiv Gandhi laid a strong foundation for the information technology sector in the country. Further, he said the former Prime Minister opened new opportunities for the youth.
The minister said Rajiv Gandhi introduced major reforms in computer technology and telecommunications. He also strengthened the Panchayati Raj system across the country.
According to Srihari, Rajiv Gandhi led India into the modern era through visionary reforms and progressive policies.

Meanwhile, Srihari said Rajiv Gandhi had immense faith in the strength of youth. He recalled that the former Prime Minister believed the future of the country rested in their hands.
He also said Rajiv Gandhi strengthened youth participation in democracy by granting voting rights to citizens aged 18 years.
Further, the minister said the Congress government was continuing Rajiv Gandhi’s vision of taking technology to rural areas and accelerating development.
Srihari said the Telangana government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy remained committed to youth development, digital progress, sports promotion and employment generation.
Finally, the minister called upon people to work towards fulfilling the ideals and vision of Rajiv Gandhi.
