Revanth Reddy US visit cancelled after Centre denies clearance

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy cancelled his proposed visit to the United States after the Centre denied clearance for the tour, the Chief Minister’s Office said.

Revanth Reddy, who was in London, had planned to travel to Boston and other US cities. However, following the denial of permission, he decided to skip the US leg and return to Hyderabad. The CMO said clearance for the Revanth Reddy US visit had been denied on political grounds.

The Chief Minister said the proposed tour was intended to bring leading global educational institutions to Telangana. It also aimed to expand opportunities for better education and skill training for young people.

Although the Chief Minister cancelled his US programme, officials would travel to the United States as planned. They would continue discussions on proposed agreements and partnerships linked to the visit.

The Chief Minister’s proposed engagements in the US had included Boston and other cities. The broader initiative focused on establishing educational and skill-development partnerships for Telangana.

Revanth said his government aimed to develop Hyderabad into a global centre for education and skills. Despite the cancellation of the Revanth Reddy US visit, the official-level discussions on the proposed partnerships would continue.

Revanth continues London education meetings

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy would continue his scheduled engagements in London before returning to Hyderabad. As part of the programme, he was scheduled to meet representatives of the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.

The Chief Minister would also hold discussions with representatives of the London School of Economics and London Business School. Meetings with representatives of the University of London were also part of his scheduled engagements.

The discussions formed part of Telangana’s efforts to engage leading global educational institutions. Revanth said the objective was to transform Hyderabad into a world-class hub for education and skills.

The Chief Minister would return to Hyderabad instead of proceeding to the United States after completing his scheduled London engagements.
