Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao alleged that authorities damaged a historic Kakatiya temple near Warangal.
In a post on X, KTR criticised the Congress government over the incident.
He accused the state administration of lacking understanding of Telangana’s history, culture and identity.
KTR alleged that officials damaged an 800-year-old Shiva temple near Ashok Nagar in Khanapur mandal of Warangal district.
He said the Kakatiya rulers had constructed the temple centuries ago.
Kakatiya temple issue sparks political criticism
The BRS leader termed the incident unfortunate and criticised the government over alleged damage to historical heritage.
KTR alleged that the administration had already demolished houses and felled large numbers of trees during development work.
He claimed that the government was now affecting historical structures as well.
The BRS working president demanded that authorities immediately stop the alleged activities near the temple.
He also urged the government to restore the Shiva temple at the earliest.
KTR stated that Telangana’s historical heritage and cultural identity required protection.
