NITI Aayog endorses Telangana tourism model, says Jupally Krishna Rao

Hyderabad: Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao welcomed NITI Aayog’s endorsement of the Telangana tourism model, saying the recognition validated the State’s reform-driven approach to tourism and hospitality development.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Minister said NITI Aayog’s report, Unlocking Growth in Tourism and Hospitality Sector, acknowledged Telangana’s Ease of Doing Business initiatives and reflected the government’s sustained efforts to build an investor-friendly ecosystem for tourism and hospitality.

The report highlighted several policy reforms introduced by Telangana. These included simplified hotel development regulations, greater flexibility in land use, streamlined approval processes, enhanced Floor Area Ratio (FAR) provisions, rationalised parking norms, and a strengthened single-window clearance system. NITI Aayog also recommended that other States study the Telangana tourism model to facilitate investments in the sector.

Reforms strengthen Telangana tourism model

Jupally Krishna Rao said the reforms, implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, had strengthened investor confidence and encouraged greater private participation in tourism. He added that the Telangana Tourism Policy 2025–2030 had already attracted encouraging investor interest, creating opportunities for fresh investments, employment generation, and sustainable economic growth.

The Minister recalled that NITI Aayog had recognised Telangana’s tourism achievements on earlier occasions as well. He said the latest endorsement further reinforced the government’s commitment to transparent governance, policy reforms, and investor-centric administration in the tourism sector.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Jupally Krishna Rao said Telangana would continue to pursue progressive reforms, strengthen tourism infrastructure, and provide seamless support for investors. These measures, he said, would help establish the State as one of India’s leading destinations for tourism and hospitality investments.

“NITI Aayog’s appreciation is a matter of pride for Telangana. It reflects the success of our reform-driven approach and our unwavering commitment to ease of doing business in the tourism sector. Under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, we will continue to create a robust investment ecosystem, unlock the State’s immense tourism potential, and establish Telangana as a leading tourism destination in the country,” the Minister said.
