Dasoju Sravan alleges irregularities in TGSWREIS appointments and tenders

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan accused the Telangana government of weakening administrative systems in TGSWREIS through frequent transfers, controversial appointments and centralised tender procedures.

Sravan questioned the government’s decision to appoint Joint Secretary K. Sharada as Secretary in full additional charge through G.O.Rt.No.107. He claimed the appointment broke long-standing administrative practice as the post traditionally remained with IAS officers.

The BRS leader alleged that the government had turned the secretary’s office into a “musical chairs” system since December 2023 by repeatedly shifting officials within a short period.

He said the society had seen multiple changes in leadership after the Congress government assumed office under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. According to Sravan, Alugu Varshini served for nearly a year before the government appointed Krishna Aditya. He alleged that the government later replaced him with Vijayendra Boyi even before she formally assumed charge.

TGSWREIS appointments linked to tender concerns

Sravan alleged that the government weakened institutional autonomy after allegations surfaced in the bunker bed procurement issue. He claimed the administration later shifted to a centralised procurement system controlled directly by the Chief Minister’s Office.

He accused the government of removing decision-making powers from societies and bringing large-scale student supply tenders under central control.

The BRS MLC further alleged that the government preferred officers who would clear files without detailed scrutiny. He claimed authorities wanted “rubber stamp” approvals for managed contracts benefiting select agencies.

Sravan demanded intervention by the State Vigilance Commission and the Anti-Corruption Bureau. He alleged that misuse of funds meant for welfare students amounted to a criminal offence and warned that those involved in the tender process would face legal consequences.
