Hyderabad: BRS working president and MLA K. T. Rama Rao raised a maize procurement demand and urged the state government to purchase the crop from farmers in Warangal.
He made the demand during a visit to the Ukal Farmers’ Cooperative Credit Society in Geesugonda mandal. The visit formed part of his two-day tour of the erstwhile Warangal district.
Maize procurement demand raised
KTR interacted with maize farmers and reviewed their problems. He said the government must immediately begin procurement operations.
He also asked authorities to ensure direct payments into farmers’ bank accounts. Therefore, he stressed the need for timely financial support.
Further, he criticised delays in procurement. He said such delays affected farmers’ income and stability.
KTR assured farmers of support from the BRS party. He said the party would stand with them and fight for their rights.
Meanwhile, MP Vaddiraju Ravi Chandra and senior leaders accompanied him. They also interacted with farmers during the visit.
He said the government must respond quickly to farmers’ concerns. He added that immediate action would help prevent losses.
