Bandi Sanjay slams CM Revanth over CBI drama

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of creating a CBI drama to divert public attention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s May 10 rally and the BJP’s recent electoral gains.

Sanjay made the remarks after visiting a paddy procurement centre at Kazipur in Karimnagar. He said farmers faced severe hardships at the centre due to long waiting periods, poor facilities and lack of basic amenities.

Further, he alleged that middlemen exploited farmers through deductions and commissions. He said the state government had failed to speed up procurement despite support from the Centre.

CBI drama charge linked to Modi rally

Sanjay questioned why the Congress government had not acted faster on alleged irregularities in power purchases. He also accused the government of showing reluctance to act against BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Referring to Revanth Reddy’s proposed letter to the Centre, Sanjay asked whether the Chief Minister would admit that he was incapable of arresting KCR.

“Will you admit that you are incapable of arresting KCR? You should state precisely that fact in the letter that you are writing to the Centre. If Revanth Reddy acknowledges his own incompetence and writes to the Centre admitting as such, the Centre will certainly respond regarding the CBI inquiry,” Sanjay said.

He called the Congress government ineffective. Moreover, he alleged that it misled the public and failed to use Central funds meant for welfare schemes.

Sanjay said the CBI drama showed the government’s attempt to avoid questions on farmers’ distress, procurement delays and political accountability.
