CS Sanjay Jaju reviews Independence Day preparations

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed Independence Day preparations at a high-level meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat. He directed all departments to ensure seamless arrangements for the State-level celebrations at the historic Rani Mahal Lawns, Golconda Fort, on August 15.

Jaju said the Independence Day celebrations are among the State’s most important official events. Therefore, every department must complete its responsibilities with meticulous planning and close coordination.

He informed officials that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would first pay floral tributes at the Veerula Sainik Smarak in Parade Grounds, Secunderabad. Afterwards, the Chief Minister will proceed to Golconda Fort. He will unfurl the National Flag, inspect the ceremonial parade and address the gathering.

The Chief Secretary instructed all departments to make comprehensive arrangements for security, traffic regulation, venue readiness, public convenience and emergency response. In addition, he asked officials to complete all preparations well before the celebrations.

Independence Day preparations reviewed across departments

Jaju directed the Roads and Buildings Department to complete the stage, seating arrangements, barricading, approach roads and other civil works within the stipulated time.

He instructed the Police Department to prepare comprehensive security and traffic management plans. Meanwhile, the department will ensure the smooth movement of dignitaries and participants.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will maintain cleanliness around the venue. It will also carry out sanitation, landscaping and beautification works.

Jaju directed the Health Department to deploy medical teams, ambulances and first-aid facilities at strategic locations. Similarly, he asked the Fire Services Department to station fire tenders and emergency response teams at the venue.

He instructed the Energy Department to ensure uninterrupted power supply with adequate backup arrangements. Further, he asked all other departments to complete their assigned works well ahead of the event.

Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, Jaju said every department must work together. As a result, the State can conduct the Independence Day celebrations in a grand and dignified manner.
