Hyderabad: A Konaraopet attack series has caused concern in Rajanna Sircilla district after three violent incidents within nine days.
The latest incident occurred on August 16 in Nimmapalli village. Two youths allegedly attacked Ajay with knives during a dispute linked to his love marriage.
Ajay, a resident of Malkapet village, had recently married Maria. Her family members reportedly opposed the marriage, leading to an ongoing dispute between the two families.
According to locals, Ajay attended a relative’s death ceremony in Konaraopet village. A quarrel reportedly broke out between the two groups and later escalated.
Afterward, Ajay reached his mother’s house in Nimmapalli. Maria’s younger brother Suresh allegedly attacked him with another person using knives.
The attack left Ajay with serious injuries, including wounds to his stomach. Doctors initially treated him at Sircilla before shifting him to Karimnagar for better care.
Konaraopet police reached the location after receiving information about the incident. They registered a case and began investigating the circumstances behind the attack.
The police have yet to establish the complete motive and the precise role of each accused. Meanwhile, the Konaraopet attack series has triggered concern among residents across the mandal.
Konaraopet attack series follows earlier violent disputes
The first reported incident occurred on August 8 in Malkapet. A dispute between a father and son allegedly led the father to attack his son with an axe.
The son suffered serious injuries and received treatment at Warangal MGM Hospital. Police later remanded the father in connection with the case.
Another violent incident followed on August 12 in the Vattimalla-Gollapalli area. A land dispute reportedly triggered a confrontation between two people.
During the dispute, one man allegedly attacked another with a shovel. The injured man first received treatment at Sircilla Hospital and later moved to Karimnagar.
Police registered a case after the victim’s family lodged a complaint. The accused were subsequently remanded, according to the source.
The three incidents have raised concerns because they occurred within a short period. Residents said disputes involving families, land and marriages were increasingly turning violent.
Locals have urged police to gather advance information about sensitive disputes. They also called for counselling and awareness programmes for families facing prolonged conflicts.
Residents said authorities should identify the social causes behind such incidents instead of treating each case separately. They also stressed that disputes should lead to dialogue rather than violence.
The Konaraopet attack series has therefore renewed demands for preventive policing in the mandal. Locals want authorities to identify disputes early and intervene before tensions escalate into violence.
