Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, alleging that people could not expect welfare or development from its leadership.
Addressing the BRS general body meeting in Vemulawada on Saturday, he claimed the first half of the Congress government’s tenure had failed to meet public expectations.
He further alleged that people had already lost confidence in the remaining period of the government’s term.
KTR also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over remarks he attributed to him regarding Adolf Hitler.
Congress government under fire over welfare and development claims
During his speech, KTR highlighted the achievements of the previous BRS government led by K. Chandrashekhar Rao.
He said the BRS administration facilitated more than 15 lakh marriages through welfare programmes.
He also cited the establishment of medical colleges and Gurukul schools.
Additionally, he referred to the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project as a major achievement.
Meanwhile, KTR alleged that the Congress government had accumulated substantial debt without delivering corresponding benefits to people.
He claimed the government had weakened the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
He also alleged that Telangana’s resources were being misused.
Further, the BRS leader expressed confidence that his party would return to power with a clear majority in the next Assembly elections.
He accused the government of causing losses to farmers through excessive deductions during procurement operations.
KTR also claimed public dissatisfaction with the Congress government was increasing across the state.
According to him, voters would reject the ruling party in the next election.
Additionally, he supported conducting a population census every ten years to accurately reflect demographic changes.
He further alleged that both the BJP and Congress were attempting to benefit from fraudulent votes.
KTR urged party workers to identify duplicate and ineligible votes and work towards securing victories at the polling booth level.
