Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy attempted to block the Rajya Sabha prospects of AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan by sharing details of a purported case against her with BJP leaders.
Addressing the Khairatabad constituency BRS general body meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of engaging in internal political vendettas and targeting leaders within his own party.
The former minister claimed that Meenakshi Natarajan, whom he described as a trusted associate of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, became a target after allegedly reporting instances of corruption involving land deals and contracts to the Congress high command.
KTR further alleged that a false case had been registered against Natarajan in Hyderabad and that information related to the case was subsequently shared with BJP leaders to prevent her nomination to the Rajya Sabha. However, he did not provide evidence to support the allegations during his speech.
The BRS leader also criticised the Chief Minister over remarks in which he allegedly referred to Adolf Hitler as an ideal figure, describing such comments as inappropriate in a democratic society.
KTR attacks Congress government over unfulfilled promises
During the meeting, KTR described the Congress government as a failure and accused it of not delivering on key electoral promises midway through its tenure. He argued that the administration had fallen short on commitments related to employment generation, welfare schemes and financial assistance.
Questioning the government’s promise of providing two lakh jobs within its first year, KTR claimed that only a fraction of the promised positions had been filled. He also criticised the administration for not implementing the promised unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000.
On women’s welfare, the BRS working president challenged the government’s claim of creating one crore women millionaires. He alleged that beneficiaries were still awaiting financial assistance promised under various welfare schemes.
KTR also claimed that a by-election in Khairatabad was inevitable following the defection of MLA Danam Nagender to the Congress. He urged party workers to remain vigilant and monitor voter lists closely.
The BRS leader directed booth-level agents to actively participate in the Comprehensive Household Survey scheduled between June 25 and July 31. He also called for large-scale digital membership enrolment drives to strengthen the party organisation ahead of future elections.
