Hyderabad: TGSRTC Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy directed officials to operate adequate school bus services across all routes and align schedules with student timings as schools reopen for the 2026-27 academic year on Monday.
With educational institutions resuming classes after the summer vacation, the TGSRTC chief instructed regional officials and depot managers to ensure that students do not face any transportation difficulties while travelling to and from schools.
Nagi Reddy noted that the new academic year would have 227 working days and said the corporation had completed all necessary preparations to provide safe and timely transportation for students across the state.
He directed officials to remain vigilant at the field level and closely monitor transport arrangements. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring smooth connectivity for students travelling from rural areas, where RTC buses remain a key mode of transportation.
The Managing Director also instructed officials to restore all previously operated school bus routes and ensure that services are available on every route where student demand exists.
School bus services to match school schedules
Nagi Reddy stressed that school bus services must be synchronised with school opening and closing times to minimise inconvenience for students and parents.
He directed field staff to strictly follow schedules during peak morning and evening hours so that students do not have to wait for long periods at bus stops. Officials were also asked to deploy additional trips wherever passenger demand increases.
The TGSRTC chief said efficient transportation was essential for ensuring regular attendance and safe travel for students throughout the academic year.
He instructed depot managers to continuously review route operations and make necessary adjustments based on local requirements. The corporation aims to provide reliable transport services across urban and rural areas alike.
TGSRTC officials have been asked to closely monitor operations during the initial days of the academic year and take immediate corrective measures if any transportation issues arise. The corporation expects the strengthened school bus services to benefit thousands of students across Telangana.
