Bandi Sanjay says Centre-State cooperation driving Telangana development

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said Telangana’s development was progressing because the Centre and the State government were working together, enabling the flow of funds for infrastructure and connectivity projects.

The Union Minister made the remarks after laying the foundation stone for the Bollaram-Sirikonda road expansion project in Rajanna Sircilla district on Sunday. He attended the programme along with Vemulawada MLA and Government Whip Adi Srinivas.

Bandi Sanjay said development was possible only when the Central and State governments cooperated with each other. He alleged that Telangana had suffered during the previous administration and claimed that the current government’s cooperation with the Centre was helping secure funds for development works.

The Minister stated that he had facilitated projects worth ₹22,000 crore for the Karimnagar parliamentary constituency over the past seven years. He added that substantial funding had been secured to improve connectivity between villages and mandal headquarters.

The Bollaram-Sirikonda road project is part of the larger Vemulawada-Sirikonda road expansion programme. According to Bandi Sanjay, the Centre sanctioned ₹23 crore under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the project.

Telangana development cooperation boosts infrastructure projects

The Union Minister said the road expansion work would cover approximately 18.21 kilometres and include road widening, strengthening, cement concrete road sections, drainage works, culverts and road safety measures. He added that the project was expected to be completed within six months.

According to him, the upgraded road would improve connectivity and reduce travel time for residents of Mamidipalli, Bausaipeta, Ramannapalli and Govindaraopeta Thanda.

Bandi Sanjay also highlighted other infrastructure initiatives in the region. He said ₹5,000 crore had been secured for national highway expansion projects and additional funds had been mobilised through CRIF, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

The Minister referred to the ongoing widening of the Karimnagar-Warangal National Highway, funded at ₹2,147 crore, and the Elkathurthy-Siddipet National Highway project, funded at ₹578 crore. He also said the Centre had approved more than ₹2,003 crore for the expansion of the Karimnagar-Jagtial road.

Bandi Sanjay urged public representatives across party lines to work together for the region’s development. He said efforts should focus on fulfilling public aspirations and transforming the Karimnagar parliamentary constituency into a model constituency.
