Goshamahal police book four for illegal siren use on Fortuner

Hyderabad: The Goshamahal siren misuse case led to the booking of Girish Kumar Agarwal and three others for allegedly using an illegal siren on a private vehicle.

Police also accused them of displaying unauthorized VIP stickers and arguing with on-duty police personnel.

Police registered FIR No.150/2026 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.

The incident took place on April 28 at around 11.30 am near the Traffic Training Institute at Goshamahal.

Sub-Inspector M. Raghavendra of Goshamahal Traffic Police intercepted a white Toyota Fortuner bearing registration number TS 09 FP 5004.

Police noticed the vehicle using a siren in violation of traffic rules.

During the inspection, the occupants allegedly argued with officers and behaved rudely with police staff.

Meanwhile, one of the occupants showed an identity card linked to a “National Human Rights Organization”.

Police said the occupant used the card to defend the illegal use of the siren and VIP insignia.

However, investigators later found that the accused had allegedly used unauthorized sirens and VIP stickers on the vehicle.

Police said the violations caused inconvenience to the public and raised impersonation concerns.

Goshamahal siren misuse case leads to Fortuner seizure

Following the inquiry, police seized the Toyota Fortuner and shifted it to Goshamahal Police Station for further investigation.

Investigators then issued notices under Section 35(3) of BNSS, 2023 to A-1 Girish Kumar Agarwal, A-2 Hanuma Reddy and A-3 Kitesh.

Police also directed the three accused to appear before investigating officers.

Meanwhile, officials said A-4 Nagesh remained absconding.

Police later linked the Goshamahal siren misuse case to misuse of VIP symbols on a private vehicle.

Hyderabad Police warned that unauthorized use of sirens and VIP markings is a punishable offence.

Further, police advised motorists to follow traffic rules and avoid illegal displays on vehicles.
