Later, the couple approached the Gandhi Hospital IVF centre. Doctors identified the medical issues and started IVF treatment.
From conception to delivery, the hospital provided all procedures, medicines and medical support free of cost. As a result, the couple successfully welcomed twin babies.
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha congratulated Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr Vani, IVF Centre Head Dr T. Shobha, Dr Fatima, Dr Shivakrishna, Nursing Officer Lavanya and the medical staff involved in the treatment.
The minister said IVF centres established at Gandhi Hospital and Petlaburj Hospital were helping patients who could not afford expensive fertility treatment in private hospitals.
He also stated that advanced reproductive treatment facilities were now available in government hospitals. Therefore, he urged people to utilise public healthcare services.
Hospital officials said continuous medical supervision and specialised fertility care played a key role in the successful pregnancy and delivery.
