Software engineer arrested for assaulting traffic police in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police arrested a software engineer for allegedly assaulting traffic police personnel during vehicle checking at GPO X Road in Abids.

Police identified the accused as Pasupula Yeshwanth, 26, a resident of Hyderabad.

According to police, Sub-Inspector Anil Kumar and traffic personnel were conducting vehicle checks on May 24 at around 5.45 pm when they intercepted a Honda CB 350 motorcycle carrying two persons and a pet animal.

Police said both the rider and pillion rider were not wearing helmets.

Traffic officials then asked the rider to produce his driving licence and other documents to issue an e-challan for traffic violations.

Assaulting traffic police case registered at Abids

Police alleged that the accused behaved aggressively during the checking and attacked Home Guard Y. Kumar.

The accused also allegedly abused traffic police personnel in foul language, caused injuries and created nuisance in a public place.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case under FIR No.169/2026 against Pasupula Yeshwanth.

Police later arrested the accused and produced him before the II Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Nampally.

The court remanded the accused to judicial custody for 14 days.
