Chilkalguda Police reunite missing older man with family

Hyderabad: Chilkalguda Police traced a missing older man and safely reunited the 85-year-old with his family after finding him wandering alone in Secunderabad.

Police identified the missing older man as Shaik Ismail, a resident of Khadri Bagh in Amberpet.

According to police, Shaik Ismail left his house on May 22 to attend evening Namaz but did not return home.

Two days later, locals spotted him wandering aimlessly in the Chilkalguda area. Police then took him into protective care.

Initially, the man could not provide his complete address details. However, during continuous enquiry, he informed police that he lived in Moula Ali and that his son worked as an auto driver.

Missing older man traced through local enquiry

Police publicised his details through newspapers while simultaneously conducting field-level enquiries.

Under the guidance of Chilkalguda Division ACP K. Shashank Reddy and SHO V. Ramakrishna, Sub-Inspector Chandraiah and Home Guard Officer Pitchaiah took the man to the Moula Ali area.

The officers showed him to local auto drivers, who identified him and immediately informed his sons, Shaik Saleem and Shaik Kaleem.

Meanwhile, Shaik Kaleem had approached Amberpet Police Station to lodge a missing complaint regarding his father.

However, after learning that Chilkalguda Police had traced his father, he informed Amberpet Police and withdrew the complaint.

Later, family members reached Chilkalguda Police Station and took Shaik Ismail home safely.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police appreciated the officers for their prompt action and dedicated efforts in reuniting the missing older man with his family.
