Hyderabad: Chilkalguda police and Gandhi Hospital management shifted six mentally challenged persons to a welfare facility in Yapral for care and rehabilitation.
Officials said the six individuals were undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital and could not take care of themselves.
Police stated that the individuals also lacked family support and required rehabilitation assistance.
Chilkalguda police and Gandhi Hospital authorities jointly carried out the initiative as part of a humanitarian effort.
Mentally challenged persons moved for rehabilitation support
Authorities moved the six individuals to Second Chance Mission Hospital in Yapral to provide better care and rehabilitation support.
Officials said the team obtained consent from the elder brother of one woman before shifting her to the facility.
Further, police appealed to the public to help identify the remaining five individuals and assist in reuniting them with their families.
Authorities said they were continuing efforts to trace relatives and arrange long-term support for the rescued persons.
