Hyderabad: Goshamahal Traffic Police seized a motorcycle with a fake number plate during a special enforcement drive at Afzalgunj T-Junction. They also handed the rider and the vehicle over to Afzalgunj Law and Order Police for further investigation.
Traffic police intercepted a Bajaj Pulsar bearing registration number TG16B4921. Meanwhile, a check through the e-Challan database showed that the registration number belonged to a Honda SP 125 DLX. The verification confirmed that the motorcycle carried a fake number plate.
Fake number plate found during traffic enforcement
Police identified the rider as Shaik Rasool Ali (26), a mechanic from Ameerpet. Further, he failed to produce valid ownership documents for the motorcycle.
During questioning, Shaik Rasool Ali told police that he had bought the motorcycle about six months ago. He said he purchased it through a Facebook Marketplace listing. He claimed an unknown person sold him the vehicle for ₹20,000.
Police handed the rider and the seized motorcycle over to Afzalgunj Law and Order Police. Additionally, investigators will verify the ownership records and trace the vehicle’s origin. They will also examine whether the motorcycle is stolen or linked to any criminal activity. Police have initiated legal action.
