Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced a series of decisions for Telangana government employees, including issuance of health cards by June 1 and clearance of Rs. 6,000 crore pending retirement dues within 100 days.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with Employees JAC leaders and discussed pending employee demands. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka also attended the meeting.
Revanth Reddy directed officials of the Pay Revision Commission to submit the PRC report immediately. He said the government was ready to take a decision on salary revision after receiving the report.
The Chief Minister also suggested that employee unions meet once every two months and submit reports on employee-related issues to the government.
Government employees assured of welfare measures
Revanth Reddy said one of the first decisions taken after the Congress government assumed office was ensuring salary payments on the first day of every month.
He appreciated the role of government employees in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes across Telangana.
The Chief Minister also said the government conducted teacher transfers in a planned manner without confusion.
According to Revanth Reddy, the government would issue health cards to all employees from June 1. He added that employee unions could decide how the Rs. 6,000 crore retirement dues would be prioritised for distribution.
The Chief Minister further stated that the government recruited 67,760 employees across departments after coming to power.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the government was working to clear all pending bills by Telangana Formation Day on June 2.
He said large-scale pending bills had accumulated during the previous BRS government and added that the present government was taking measures to resolve them systematically.
Government employees withdraw protest call
Welcoming the government’s response, Employees JAC leaders announced withdrawal of dharnas scheduled for May 5 and other protest programmes.
Employees JAC Chairman M. Jagadish, TEJAC Chairman Lachireddy and several union representatives attended the meeting.
