Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao accused the Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi and AIMIM of deceiving Hyderabad citizens for political gains.
He made the remarks while participating in the BJP’s “Rythu Gosa – BJP Bharosa” yatra at Kukatpally on Tuesday.
Addressing reporters, Ramchander Rao alleged that the proposed bifurcation of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation aimed to strengthen AIMIM politically.
He claimed the ruling parties were taking decisions based on political interests rather than public welfare.
The BJP leader also accused the Telangana government of failing to maintain Hyderabad’s drinking water supply system.
According to him, residents in several areas were receiving water only once in three to four days.
He alleged that many families were depending on private water tankers due to the situation.
Hyderabad citizens facing civic and policy issues
Ramchander Rao also criticised the government over the HILT policy.
He alleged that authorities were converting industrial zones into residential areas to benefit real estate interests.
According to the BJP leader, the government failed to assess the impact of the policy on jobs and livelihoods.
He further accused the state government of encouraging a “real estate scam” through the policy decisions.
Pitching the BJP as an alternative for Hyderabad’s development, Ramchander Rao said schemes introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi could transform the city.
He referred to central programmes such as Smart City and AMRUT initiatives.
The BJP leader claimed these schemes could help develop Hyderabad into a global city ahead of the upcoming GHMC elections.
