Hyderabad: Balka Suman remarks triggered political controversy after Hyderabad police registered a criminal case against the BRS leader and former MLA over alleged provocative statements.
State Government Whip Balmuri Venkat demanded immediate action against Balka Suman and alleged that the remarks could disturb public peace and encourage violence.
According to Congress leaders, Balka Suman allegedly called for attacks on Singareni assets and militant-style protests.
Following complaints lodged by Congress activists at Nampally Police Station, police registered a criminal case against the former MLA.
Balka Suman remarks draw political criticism
Balmuri Venkat alleged that speeches encouraging violence amounted to criminal acts. He also accused Balka Suman of provoking unrest for political gains.
State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar strongly criticised the remarks and termed them unlawful.
The minister questioned the consequences of damaging railway tracks and Singareni property. He warned that such actions could threaten public safety and create major law-and-order problems.
Ponnam Prabhakar also demanded suspension of Balka Suman from the BRS over the controversial statements.
Another minister, Adluri Laxman, dismissed Balka Suman as a “paper tiger” and accused the BRS of attempting to create artificial agitations despite lacking public support.
He further alleged that the previous BRS government pushed Telangana into heavy debt and demanded accountability from party leaders regarding the remarks.
