KTR demands apology from Revanth Reddy over Indian Army remarks

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday demanded an immediate apology from Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for what he described as disgraceful and insulting remarks against the Indian Army.

KTR strongly criticised Revanth Reddy’s statements made during an election rally, calling them “irresponsible” and “shameful.” He said such comments were unworthy of someone holding the office of Chief Minister. “To insult the Indian Army merely to score political points is a new low, even by Revanth Reddy’s standards,” he stated.

The BRS leader insisted that the Chief Minister withdraw his comments and issue an unconditional public apology. He stressed that the armed forces represent courage, sacrifice, and commitment, adding that soldiers endure extreme conditions to protect the nation’s borders.

“We are able to live safely, do politics, and spend time with our families only because our soldiers are standing guard,” he said. KTR questioned Revanth Reddy’s intentions and asked, “What made you belittle our Army and glorify Pakistan? What were you trying to achieve by humiliating our brave soldiers?”

He accused Revanth Reddy of lacking patriotism and dignity. “For a man once caught with bags of cash, it is perhaps natural to worship goondas and rowdy sheeters. But as Chief Minister, you must act with responsibility,” KTR said.

KTR also said the comments had deeply offended millions of Indians who revere the Army. “As Telangana’s representative, you must honour the soldiers who guard our nation, not ridicule them for political theatrics,” he added.
