Kishan Reddy highlights Modi government’s development initiatives

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to work for the country’s progress through development initiatives, welfare programmes and governance reforms.

Addressing media persons on Sunday, Kishan Reddy said Modi uses the monthly “Mann Ki Baat” programme to connect with citizens and discuss social and economic issues affecting the country.

He said millions of people across India regularly follow the broadcast. According to the minister, families listen to the programme through television, radio and mobile platforms.

Kishan Reddy said Prime Minister Modi is approaching the completion of 12 years in office. He credited the Prime Minister with introducing governance reforms and modern administrative practices during this period.

The minister highlighted infrastructure development undertaken during the past decade. He said authorities expanded national highways, strengthened railway networks and introduced new trains across the country.

He also said the government modernised railway stations and adopted advanced technology in the railway sector. According to Kishan Reddy, the number of airports in India increased from about 70 to nearly 150 during the period.

Development initiatives focus on welfare and infrastructure

Kishan Reddy said the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana improved road connectivity in remote villages that previously lacked access to all-weather roads.

He also highlighted programmes aimed at tribal development, education and healthcare improvement.

According to the minister, the government continues to provide five kilograms of free rice per person every month to about 83 crore beneficiaries through a national food security programme.

Kishan Reddy said the Ayushman Bharat scheme provides eligible beneficiaries with health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh.

The Union Minister said many countries continue to face economic and social challenges. However, he claimed India has maintained economic momentum under Modi’s leadership.

He also said the government remains committed to transparent and efficient governance. According to him, India’s global standing has improved significantly in recent years.

Kishan Reddy thanked citizens for their support to Prime Minister Modi and the central government. He expressed hope that people would continue to support the government’s efforts in the coming years.
