Seethakka inaugurates working women hostel and Sakhi centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Women and Child Welfare Danasari Anasuya Seethakka inaugurated a working women hostel and Sakhi centre at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The government launched the facilities during the ongoing women’s week celebrations in the state.

MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLA Danam Nagender, Women’s Commission Chairperson Vijayalakshmi and Child Commission Chairperson Seetha Dayakar Reddy attended the programme.

In addition, members of the Child Rights Commission, Women Development Corporation representatives and other officials also participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka said the government was establishing working women hostel facilities for women arriving in Hyderabad for jobs and employment.

The minister said the newly launched “Sakhi Nivas” hostel could accommodate around 150 women.

She added that the hostel included special facilities for mothers with small children.

Working women hostel supports women’s empowerment

Seethakka said the Telangana government was giving top priority to women’s safety, dignity and financial independence.

Moreover, she stated that the government increased interest-free loan limits for women self-help groups from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

According to the minister, the government was creating employment opportunities through rice mills, petrol bunks and women-run supermarkets.

Seethakka said the government aimed to transform women into wealth creators and strengthen family incomes.

She also stated that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was working to empower women in every household.

Meanwhile, the minister announced that women self-help groups would launch solar power plants on Wednesday in Madhira constituency.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka will inaugurate the projects.

Furthermore, Seethakka said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would distribute RTC buses to women on June 5.

She urged women to showcase their achievements and contribute towards Telangana’s progress.
