Telangana Police urges parents to educate children on cyber fraud

Hyderabad: Telangana Police urged parents to strengthen cyber fraud awareness among children by educating them about online scams, financial frauds and risks associated with internet use.

In a public advisory, the police highlighted the need for families to discuss how cybercriminals operate and the methods they use to target victims. Parents were encouraged to explain common financial fraud tactics and the precautions needed to avoid falling prey to such scams.

The advisory also stressed the importance of informing children about cyber threats that may be hidden behind online games. Officials said cybercriminals often use gaming platforms and digital interactions to deceive young users and gain access to personal information.

Cyber fraud awareness includes monitoring online activity

Telangana Police advised parents to regularly monitor their children’s web activity and remain alert to unusual online behaviour. Officials said active supervision can help identify potential threats at an early stage.

The police emphasised that awareness and open communication within families are important tools in preventing cybercrime. By understanding online risks and following basic safety measures, children can be better protected from digital fraud and other cyber threats.
