Ponguleti launches integrated sub-registrar office project, outlines urban housing plan

Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a new complex of integrated sub-registrar offices in Banjara Hills and said the government is committed to bringing public services closer to citizens.

The Minister inaugurated the project along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammad Azharuddin. Addressing the gathering, he said the government is implementing reforms to ensure that key services reach people more efficiently.

Ponguleti also reiterated the government’s commitment to providing housing for the urban poor. He said the government would construct modern Indiramma houses within the constituencies where beneficiaries currently reside.

The Minister said the government would soon begin construction of one lakh houses in the CURE area in the first phase. Subsequently, the government would build another one lakh houses in the second phase.

He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would formally launch the housing programme. The government aims to finish the first phase within a year.

Integrated sub-registrar offices to streamline public services

Ponguleti said the new integrated sub-registrar offices would bring registration, survey and related services under one roof.

Additionally, the government is upgrading 13 sub-registrar offices across the three municipal corporation limits. It is developing them on corporate lines.

He said reputed private firms would construct the facilities without placing a financial burden on the state government.

According to the Minister, Phoenix will complete the 30,000-square-foot Banjara Hills complex within the next few months.

The facility will house the SR Nagar, Banjara Hills and Golconda sub-registrar offices. It will also accommodate the DIG office and the Registrar of Chits, Golconda.

Furthermore, Ponguleti said the project would improve service delivery while creating additional employment and business opportunities in the area.

The Minister also announced that he had directed officials to facilitate Namaz prayers twice a year for members of the Muslim community who have traditionally offered prayers at the site for several decades.

Banjara Hills MLA Danam Nagender chaired the programme. MP Sunil Yadav, MLC Addanki Dayakar, MLA Naveen Yadav and Stamps and Registration Department Special Secretary Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu attended the event.
