Hyderabad: The Telangana government has extended journalist bus pass validity for state and district journalists till June 16, 2026.
The Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department informed TGSRTC about the decision through an official communication issued on May 29.
Earlier, the department extended the validity of journalists’ bus passes by one month up to May 31, 2026. It issued that order on April 30, 2026.
The government has now decided to continue the facility until June 16, 2026.
Journalist bus pass validity extended till June 16
The I&PR Department also extended the validity of existing accreditation cards till June 16, 2026.
Therefore, the department asked TGSRTC to continue journalist bus pass validity up to the same date.
Additionally, it instructed the corporation not to insist on the validity period printed on accreditation cards while allowing the facility.
Special Commissioner Dr G. Mukunda Reddy issued the communication.
Meanwhile, the department sent copies of the letter to the Chairman of the Telangana Media Academy.
It also forwarded the communication to Regional Joint Directors of Multi Zone-I and Multi Zone-II.
Furthermore, all District Public Relations Officers received the instructions for necessary action.
The extended validity of both bus passes and accreditation cards will remain effective until June 16, 2026.
