Jupally urges villagers to utilise PM Surya Ghar scheme

Hyderabad: Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao urged residents to adopt rooftop solar power and benefit from the PM Surya Ghar scheme.

The minister participated in a gram sabha held at Peddadagada village in Kollapur constituency.

During the meeting, he explained the benefits available under the Centre’s solar energy programme.

Rooftop solar power offers income opportunity

Jupally said households could use electricity generated through solar panels to meet their daily requirements.

He added that families could also sell surplus power to electricity distribution companies.

According to the minister, beneficiaries could earn around Rs 2.50 per unit for excess electricity supplied to the grid.

He said the initiative would help reduce household electricity expenses.

Further, the programme would support environmental protection by encouraging the use of renewable energy.

Jupally urged villagers to make full use of the opportunity and become self-reliant energy producers.

He said wider adoption of solar energy would benefit both families and the environment.
