Hyderabad: Mothukupally Gram Panchayat in Vikarabad district secured third rank at the National Panchayat Awards. As a result, it earned national recognition for governance and sustainable rural development.
The Gram Panchayat, located in Kotepally Mandal, received the honour at a ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Union Minister for Panchayati Raj, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, presented the award. Union Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel also attended the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Vikarabad District Collector Deepak Tiwari and Mothukupally Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Baindla Amruthamma received the award on behalf of the Gram Panchayat.
