Tummala urges Nigerian youth to utilise Telangana seed sector expertise

Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said Telangana seed sector expertise should benefit the youth of Nigeria’s Taraba State and help strengthen agricultural development in the African region.

The Minister made the remarks at the valedictory session of the International Seed Education and Industrial Development Training Programme held at the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) in Shamirpet on Wednesday.

Labour Minister Vivek Venkatswamy joined Tummala Nageswara Rao at the programme, where officials presented certificates to participants from Taraba State who completed the training.

Tummala said Telangana had earned recognition as India’s seed capital and expressed satisfaction over sharing the state’s experience with young professionals from Nigeria.

Telangana seed sector expertise shared through training

The Minister said the participants gained practical knowledge in seed production, hybrid seed technology, seed processing, seed purification and agribusiness management.

According to him, the programme equipped the trainees with technical skills and industry exposure that could support agricultural growth in Taraba State.

Tummala praised the Taraba State government for providing international-level training opportunities to its youth.

Furthermore, he said Telangana was ready to expand cooperation with Taraba State in agriculture, seed technology, farmer training and agro-based industries.

The Minister noted that both sides were discussing a Sister State partnership to strengthen collaboration and promote mutual development.

Telangana seed sector expertise to deepen cooperation

Tummala highlighted Telangana’s achievements during the past two years and said the state’s progress could serve as a model for international partnerships in agriculture.

He expressed confidence that the trainees would utilise the knowledge gained in Telangana to create new opportunities in the agricultural sector back home.

Moreover, he said stronger engagement between Telangana and Taraba State could generate long-term benefits for farmers, entrepreneurs and agricultural institutions.

Labour Minister Vivek Venkatswamy, Seed Corporation Chairman Anvesh Reddy, Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas and representatives of Taraba Seeds Limited, Prasad Seeds Private Limited and the Institute of Public Enterprise attended the programme.

Trainers, officials and industry representatives also participated in the event, which concluded with the distribution of certificates to the trainees.
