Telangana Germany partnership to create more employment opportunities: Vivek

Hyderabad: Stronger cooperation under the Telangana Germany partnership will create new opportunities in skill development, employment generation and industrial collaboration, Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said on Wednesday.

Addressing a high-level delegation from the German state of Thuringia at the Telangana Secretariat, the Minister proposed the creation of a dedicated coordination group between Telangana and Germany to identify new areas of cooperation.

The delegation included Thuringia Minister-President Mario Voigt, Labour Minister Schenk, State Secretary Suckert, State Secretary Dr. Teichert, industry representatives, journalists and other officials.

Earlier in the day, the delegation met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during its visit to Telangana. The programme was coordinated by the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM).

Telangana Germany partnership focuses on skilled workforce

During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities in overseas employment, workforce mobility, skill development and industrial cooperation.

Vivek Venkatswamy highlighted the initiatives undertaken through TOMCOM to create overseas employment opportunities for Telangana youth in different sectors across Germany.

He said the state government had introduced major reforms in skill development by upgrading Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs).

According to the Minister, these centres offer industry-oriented courses aligned with international standards and evolving job market requirements.

He said the ATCs were producing a skilled workforce capable of meeting the needs of industries in India and abroad.

The Minister also noted that TOMCOM had been providing language training, including German language courses, to improve employability and prepare youth for international careers.

Telangana Germany partnership expands overseas employment

The German delegation appreciated the efforts of the Telangana government, particularly the Labour Department and TOMCOM, in preparing young professionals for global employment opportunities.

A group of nurses trained through TOMCOM also interacted with the delegation and shared their experiences related to language training and overseas placement programmes.

The nurses had completed advanced-level German language certification and are set to travel to Germany for employment opportunities facilitated through TOMCOM.

LETF Secretary Dasari Harichandana explained the operational and technical aspects of the training programmes and outlined Telangana’s efforts to build a globally competitive workforce.

The interaction underscored the growing Telangana Germany partnership in skilled workforce development, international mobility and employment generation.

Director of Employment and Training Kanthi Wesley, TOMCOM officials Nagabharti and Anil Kumar, along with other senior officials, attended the meeting.
