Vivek Venkatswamy German skill training visit reviews vocational education model

Hyderabad: German skill training systems came under review as Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr G. Vivek Venkatswamy met officials of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts in Hannover on Wednesday.

The minister examined institutional frameworks, training structures and workplace practices followed by the German skilled crafts sector. The Chamber of Skilled Crafts functions as a self-governing public body representing craft enterprises, employees and apprentices.

Officials explained that the organisation operates through 53 regional chambers across Germany. These chambers serve as key coordination points for vocational training, certification and industry engagement.

German skill training model discussed during Hannover visit

During the meeting, the minister discussed education models, workforce planning and strategies to strengthen human resources. He focused on structured apprenticeship systems and industry-linked training approaches under the German training framework.

He also met Volker Schmolz, Chief Executive Officer of HWK Campus, and held discussions on training delivery and institutional management.

Subsequently, the delegation visited training centres to review curriculum design and implementation. They interacted with trainers and administrative staff to understand skill development practices at the ground level.

Officials and the delegation discussed career guidance programmes, vocational pathways and workforce readiness initiatives as part of the German skill training system.
