Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alerted officials over heavy rain forecasts and ordered precautionary measures at paddy procurement centres across Telangana.

The Chief Minister reviewed the situation after the India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for several districts.

The Chief Minister also directed authorities to speed up paddy procurement operations. He said faster procurement would help minimise losses during adverse weather.

Paddy procurement centres asked to keep tarpaulins ready

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to keep enough tarpaulins ready at procurement centres. He said the tarpaulins would prevent paddy stocks from getting wet.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to move tarpaulins from centres where procurement had already ended.

Revanth Reddy advised authorities to monitor the weather situation closely. He also asked them to respond quickly in vulnerable areas.

The Chief Minister cautioned people to remain alert because the weather department predicted strong winds and heavy rainfall in several districts.

He further directed officials to coordinate with local agencies and maintain emergency arrangements during the weather conditions.
