Ponnam releases SUCE engineering college brochure in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar released the brochure and “SUCE” code poster for the Satavahana University Engineering College at the Telangana Secretariat.

The minister congratulated Telangana EAMCET students and their parents during the event. He said the government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sanctioned the SUCE engineering college in Husnabad to expand technical education opportunities for rural students.

Ponnam stated that Telangana currently had 22 government engineering colleges and 157 private engineering institutions. He said government colleges offered 8,532 seats, while private colleges provided 1,18,542 seats statewide.

The minister announced that the official college code for the SUCE engineering college was “SUCE”. He urged EAMCET students to select the institution during counselling.

SUCE engineering college to offer five courses

Ponnam said the government created infrastructure facilities at the college on par with private institutions. He added that authorities had already started the process for constructing permanent buildings.

The minister clarified that students should not worry about facilities during the first academic year. He said officials were currently conducting classes in a well-equipped polytechnic college campus.

According to Ponnam, authorities arranged separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. He also said the government resolved transportation issues for students.

The minister stated that the SUCE engineering college would offer 300 seats in the first academic year. The college will provide 60 seats each in Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Biotechnology.

Ponnam said the college would provide digital libraries, smart classrooms, computer laboratories, science labs, workshops and drawing halls.

He further stated that the government allocated 36 acres for the college. He added that authorities sanctioned Rs 44.12 crore for construction of buildings and hostels.

SUCE engineering college planned as Husnabad education hub

The minister said experienced faculty members and career guidance programmes would strengthen students’ future opportunities. He added that placement support and specialised laboratories would also benefit students.

Ponnam stated that rural and economically weaker students could now pursue BTech education closer to their hometowns. He also announced plans to distribute bicycles, books and calculators to students.

The minister said the college would organise student induction programmes, research awareness sessions, faculty development initiatives and international conferences.

He also stated that admissions for the 2026-27 academic year were currently underway. Ponnam urged Telangana rural students to utilise the opportunity for quality engineering education.

According to the minister, the government was developing Husnabad as an education hub connecting Karimnagar, Jangaon, Siddipet and Hanamkonda regions.

He added that construction of a 250-bed hospital was progressing in Husnabad and that the government had sanctioned a PG medical college.

Ponnam also said urban forest park works, temple development activities and lake beautification projects were progressing rapidly in the town.
